Which Indian Airports Allow Entry with eVisa

In 2014, the Indian government introduced e-Visa facilities and initially 9 Indian airports: Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Cochin, Goa, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Trivandrum were designated for entry to India. Foreign travelers need to be up-to-date with all the tour and travel guidelines. If you are planning to apply for an e-Visa to visit India, it is important to be aware of all the procedures and guidelines that are issued by the official authorities.

Entry through different airports in India

As of 2024, entries in India with a valid e-Visa are allowed from 31 different airports in India. The list of the airports are mentioned below:

However, it is important to know everything about the process, from getting an Indian visa online to knowing the airports from which you can enter India. Entry in India through e-Tourist Visa

Travelers coming to India to experience the sights and culture should apply for an e-tourist visa (ETV). There are three options:

  • 30-Day Tourist e-Visa. (Double entry visa)
  • 1-Year Tourist e-Visa (365 days) (Multiple entry visa)
  • 5-Year Tourist e-Visa (Multiple entry visa)

It is important to know that in both 1-year (365 days) and 5-year e-tourist visas, a continuous stay in India should not exceed 90 days. For each visit, nationals of the US, UK, Canada, and Japan may stay for a maximum of 180 days in a continuous manner.

To get a tourist e-Visa for India, documents needed

  1. A valid passport (must be obtained no later than six months after the date of arrival in India)
  2. Front page picture of your passport
  3. A recent (6 months or less) passport-size photo of yourself
  4. Credit/Debit card (required for paying visa fee online)
  5. Valid email address you are using currently (it is where you will receive your e-Visa)
  6. Proof of enough money for your trip

When you get to India, make sure to bring a printed copy of your approved e-Visa. You'll need to show this at the airport or other entry points.

It is suggested that, before applying for an e-Visa, you read all the guidelines and fill out your Indian e-Visa application form carefully to avoid rejections.
